ST. MICHAEL'S RETREAT, established in 1962, is owned by the Franciscans of Western Canada and operates through an Interchurch Board from our Roman Catholic, Anglican and Lutheran communities. The Retreat overlooks the beautiful Qu'Appelle Valley, about 30 km. northwest of Regina, just off Highway #11 but access is through the Town of Lumsden. St. Michael's provides a year-round haven for a variety of individuals and groups who use the centre for workshops, meetings and retreats which may be spiritual or business. Our warm hospitality and excellent cuisine have become legendary.

Our artwork is beautiful and the atmosphere is wonderful. Visitors are very welcome to tour the facility.

Last Mountain House Provincial Historic Park
Last Mountain House Provincial Historic Park is built on the site of a fur -trading post constructed in 1869. The post burned down in the early 1870s, and remained untouched for almost 100 years. The Regina Archaeological Society spent 5 summers at the site collecting artifacts and information about the post.

Now, several buildings on the site re-create and interpret life on the post: the Men's House, the Master's House, the Barn Warehouse (program centre), the Trade Store, the Ice House. One of the highlights at the post is a copy of a journal kept by the Master of the post, Isaac Cowie.

The park is open July 1st to Labour Day, Thursday through Sunday.
