Art a la Carte

Since 1998, this annual fundraiser has combined the visual arts with culinary arts. This evening event welcomes the community to submit edible artworks, from the most delectable to the most disgusting, to have them juried by a panel of judges and then have their masterpieces sampled by the participants. Artworks must be made entirely from food products and can be as creative as your imagination will allow! The event includes a buffet supper, an art raffle, live music and a dance. Proceeds of Art a la Carte go to the Last Mountain Lake Cultural Centre. Art a la Carte provides the community with an opportunity to participate in arts and culture in a creative and playful way.

SUNSHINE ARTS FESTIVAL

The Sunshine Arts Festival, an annual event for the Last Mountain Lake Cultural Centre, is held on July 1st in conjunction with the Town's Canada Day festivities. The festival offers approximately 30 tables of art and craft items for sale, ranging from wood working and hand-made furniture, to pottery, jewelry, handmade soaps, clothing and homemade pet treats. An annual art exhibition and sale by local artists in the South Shore Art Guild runs for the month of July at the Elsie Scherle Gallery (located in the Last Mountain Lake Cultural Centre). Members of the Art Guild attend the Sunshine Arts Festival to promote their show and sale.
The Sunshine Arts Festival is set up at the Town Office parking lot and runs from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm.

Regina Beach Lake Swim 2009
Saturday, July 4th

Registration is $5/swimmer
Registration is the day of the event at the beach point, 8:30 am.

Swimmers are transported across the lake at approximately 9 am. You then swim back to the beach, which is approximately 1 km.

Swimmers are accompanied by safety boats during the entire swim. All swimmers are given swim caps with numbers and must wear during the entire event. We limit the amount of swimmers based on the number of safety boats. Please help us by contacting friends to provide safety boats. We also recommend swimming with a buddy or someone with similar ability. After the swim you will receive a participant t-shirt and certificate. Look forward to seeing you at the Regina Beach Lake Swim.

This event is coordinated by Regina Beach / Buena Vista Recreation and sponsored by ICR, BlueBird Café, Dominion Construction, Buena Vista Bed & Breakfast, Cottage & Country Realty, Forster Realty, Conexus, Home Hardware, MacKenzie Plb/Htg and SERM

A big thank you to the sponsors and the many people who volunteer, providing safety boats, personal watercrafts, canoes, kayaks, and their personal time to make this a safe and enjoyable morning.
