Mayor's Message

Welcome to Buena Vista!

Buena Vista, for me, is one of the most stunning locations in Canada.  Our immediate proximity to Last Mountain Lake affords residents a resort-like life style with a small town atmosphere.

Residents and their guests can launch their boats from the (soon to be completed) boat launch and enjoy the delightful experience of fishing or the excitement of water sports.  They can swim at Buena Vista Beach or take a leisurely stroll down the ‘old rail bed’ that runs along the south shore of the lake all the way to Kinookimaw.  Children can play in Dobson Park in the summer or skate on the rink in the winter.

Living on the dark side, Buena Vista does not have streetlights, affords our residents an unobstructed view of the magnificence of our Saskatchewan ski at night.  Folks are invited to attend astrological activities as they occur throughout the year.

With Regina Beach as our sister we enjoy all of the conveniences and amenities of a Regional Park as well as access to grocery stores, gas stations, and a myriad of organizations and activities.  The Last Mountain Lake Cultural Centre (LMLCC), which is located next to the South Shore School, offers classes on a variety of topics throughout the year.  It also houses the Regina Beach Public Library and the Elsie Scherle Art Gallery.  The small Museum, located next to the LMLCC, continues to grow through the dedicated efforts of its members.

Children of the families that live in our community can attend the South Shore Elementary School and participate in a variety of extracurricular activities.  No one can say that, ‘there’s nothing to do’ in Buena Vista.

Regina is a short half hour drive away on a well maintained divided highway that leads us through the remarkably beautiful Qu’Appelle Valley and the town of Lumsden.  However, with a brand new Bigway grocery store, pharmacy, and full service gas station under construction along highway 54, and a Primary Health Care facility at the end of the planning stages, there will be very little need for us to leave home!

Be my guest!  Come and enjoy everything Buena Vista has to offer and consider yourself Welcome Home.
