1800's Greystone Lodge built
- 1902 Walter Constock and family move into area
- 1908 CPR passenger shelter
- 1920 Mr. Anderson Sub divided property for a resort
- Andersons credited with the name Buena Vista - "A
Good View"
- 1920 St. Andrews Church Camp established along with
a post office
- 1929 Buena Vista known as "Beantown"
- Charltons, Portefiels, and Andersons were the first
year round residents
- 1930's tessis courts, and the pier were popular
places
- Mr. and Mrs John Dobson along with son Corky purchase
Anderson land
- 1938 Jerry and Lyle McDonald open a store, at Grand
Ave and 6th St.
- 1949 camp renamed AOTS (As One That Serves) Men's
Club
- Corky and Helen Dobson acquire the store
- 1957 "Greystone Lodge" demolished by hail
storm
- 1960 Buena Vista expands from 6th to the "Y"
on Grand Ave.
- 1962 - 1977 Marie and Artheme Jalbert open second
Store
- 1970 Resort Village of Buena Vista created - Mayor
J. Adair
- 1974 - Doug Ramsay served as mayor for 1 term
- 1977 Buena Vista expands to beaver dam
- 1980 Trailer office purchased for $3000.00
- 1983 Buena Vista becomes a Village
- 1984 Official opening of water tower
- 1986 Parks and Recreation Board established to manage
and operate Dobson
Heritage Park, Buena Vista Park, and the Buena Vista
and Sandy Beaches.
- 2000 official opening of new office
